This article disentangles the country-specific institutional system at the macro level from individual-level attraction and socialization in measuring public service-oriented work motives across European countries through public–private sector comparisons. We argue that country-specific institutions shape the level of public service-oriented work motives of each country and thereby generate level differences across countries. In contrast, public–private sector differences, (i.e. gaps), in public service-oriented work motives within a country reflect aspects of individual-level attraction and socialization. We use the 2005 and 2010 waves of the European Working Conditions Survey and demonstrate that the levels and gaps are empirically distinct phenomena, contrary to current treatment in the literature. We conclude that the distinction between levels and gaps can advance understanding of the antecedents of public service-oriented work motives and support the institutional theory of public service-oriented work motives. Points for practitioners This article argues and provides evidence for the fact that levels of work motives oriented towards public service that are visible in a cross-country comparison should not be confused with the gap of such work motives inside one country. This distinction is important because in countries where gaps between the sectors are almost non-existent and levels are generally high, interventions geared towards public service-oriented work motives are less likely to be effective.

Black drinkers experience more alcohol problems compared to White drinkers at comparable levels of alcohol use (Mulia et al., 2009; Witbrodt et al., 2014; Zapolski et al., 2014). Research has found that Black compared to White drinkers endorse drinking to cope more frequently via retrospective report (Bradizza et al., 1999; Cooper et al., 2008). Additional research is needed to understand contributors to these racial differences. The primary aim of the present study was to examine how quality and frequency of cross-group contact at work and/or school relates to experiencing discrimination and, in turn, drinking to cope. Seventy-two young adult drinkers (Mage = 25, 72% female, 28% male; 64% Black, 36% White) completed baseline questionnaires and a subset (n = 50) completed a 17-day ecological momentary assessment (EMA) protocol. Cross-group contact frequency and quality was assessed at baseline while discrimination and coping motives were assessed via retrospective report at baseline and acutely via EMA. Accounting for sociodemographic covariates, path analyses utilizing retrospective measures revealed a significant indirect pathway from race to coping motives through quality of work/school cross-group contact and discrimination experiences related to assumptions of inferiority. Identical path analyses utilizing the acute EMA data revealed a significant indirect pathway from race to coping motives through quality of work/school cross-group contact. Improving cross-group contact at work and school may reduce drinking to cope. Additional research examining multiple domains of discrimination, quality of cross-group contact, and alcohol problems over time is needed to further understanding of social determinants of health inequities in alcohol problems. Mediterranean mussel farming in Greece developed considerably during the last 40 years reaching a gross commodity product up to the limits of the country's production capacity (35–40,000 tonnes/year). Despite the achievements in the sector's growth, little or no effort has been attributed yet to risk assessment and moreover to risk management of the activity. The present effort aims at developing a working framework for the shellfish aquaculture of Greece to be used as a tool by the sector's decision makers to advance strategies for risk elimination or avoidance. The work was based on a generic risk management standard tool, the Joint Australian and New Zealand Risk Management Standard AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 that has been adapted to the specific national characteristics of all levels of the mussel farming business -activities and the industry function. The framework supported by data sets regarding development, production, profits and losses, retrieved by surveys through distributed questionnaires or interviews during site-visits, as well as by collecting data from national and international authorities. Data input covered technology, farm size, farmer risk-attitude, risk-management strategies, risk-perceptions and socioeconomic profiles. Major risks and risk management options were identified providing aid for remediation risk policies to the stakeholders.

Objectives. Lower back pain (LBP) is extremely prevalent in seafood harvesters who often have limited or no access to ergonomic consultation, occupational health support and rehabilitation services. This pilot study aimed to describe a participatory ergonomic approach and determine the feasibility and extent of adoption of self-management strategies in clam farmers with LBP. Methods. A rapid prototype participatory ergonomic approach was used to develop context-specific self-management strategies. Options to adjust lifting and repetitive stress were introduced using video clips, demonstrations and discussions in the workplace. Workers chose and implemented three strategies for 8 weeks with weekly reminders. Survey and qualitative data from focus groups were analyzed. Results. Team strategies were the most popular, but individual options were used more often. Strategies were considered feasible, acceptable and relatively easy to use. Strategies were implemented relatively consistently, and most improved productivity with decreased pain. Challenges for uptake included changing habit, culture and team dynamics. Conclusions. Participatory rapid prototyping provided a feasible and efficient option to introduce strategies for clam farmers with small teams, variable work processes and workloads, and time restrictions. Strategies were considered acceptable and easy to use, and most increased productivity. These methods show potential for future research.

A major priority of the Toyota Production System is to satisfy the customers by providing high value. The use of continuous flow, pull systems, the Andon system, standard work, visual controls, the 5S system, and reliable technology are critically important. Optimizing one's workforce is also very important by developing leaders and teams, using consensus in decision making, and becoming a learning organization. To fully understand the problems, it is also important that leaders go to the workplace to talk to workers and see what is going on.

What a genius, building a home for more than 10 centuries in the Sahara desert with all the necessary amenities to withstand a hyper-arid climate like that of Timimoun and Tiout. During our work missions during the period: 2000-2019 in the south-west of the Sahara, we were interested in the feeding of Timimoun ksours by the foggaras. This study shows that feeding ksar water remains an unresolved problem for the ksouriens of the Sahara. Two success stories in this area of water have been cited in this paper. These are the ksours of Timimoun which are fed by the foggaras. The ksar of Tiout was supplied with water by an ancestral dam. These are the two cases of the Sahara that have benefited from water with zero energy. These two examples demonstrate the ingenuity of the ksours population. If after ten centuries, the oasis have managed to master the architecture of the ksours, against the supply of ksar in water has shortcomings.

The covid-19 virus pandemic in Indonesia has been taking place since February 2020, which almost knocked out all sectors of the economy, industry, trade and human mentality. Data as of April 13, 2020 shows that the number of people in Indonesia contaminated with the covid-19 virus totals 4557 people, with the number of deaths of 399 people and patients cured reached 380 people (Source detik.com). From this data, the Government of Indonesia enacts and urges all people to stay at home or Stay at Home. With the program to stay at home, many people do all activities from home from work, study, worship done at home together with family. The implementation of staying at home from March 13, 2020 until now makes some people feel saturated, can't wait to stay at home so that many people are not disciplined in doing this program and still do regular activities in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic. The impact of impatience, indiscipline and disorderly behavior is what results in the number of contaminated sufferers every day is increasing. Therefore, it is necessary to socialize about the understanding that should be done especially by every Muslim in the face of the covid-19 pandemic disaster. The method used is to make a video of da'wah containing a short message about patience in the face of disasters that last approximately 3 minutes and upload it online then share the online link through the group in Whatsapp group. The hope of this devotion program is that the community, especially Muslims, will be encouraged and self-conscious to be able to stay at home until the End of the covid-19 pandemic. The results of this program after the video message was uploaded through Youtube then disseminated through Whatsapp group and watched approximately 150 times there are 25 people responded by sending a comment message to this video and 25 people will try to remain patient in the face of the test and implement government programs to stay home until the pandemic outbreak subsides.

The organizational design of subcontracting in the construction industry has received limited attention. This article integrates transaction cost economics and resource-based view to investigate how the governance capabilities of the general contractor impact the organizational arrangement of subcontracting and how the goal orientation of project moderates these relationships. Regression analyses were conducted on information collected by a questionnaire survey administered to a sample of 279 respondents who were employed by Chinese general contractors and who were privy to strategy information in construction projects. The results showes that the general contractor with strong governance capabilities tends to increase the extent of the work to be subcontracted and the dispersion of subcontractors used in projects. Moreover, these relationships change when the goal orientation in projects differs. In projects that display an exploitative goal orientation, the positive impact of governance capabilities on the extent of subcontracting will be weakened while the impact on subcontractor dispersion will be strengthened. In contrast, the relationship between governance capabilities and the extent of subcontracting will be stronger, and the relationship between governance capabilities and the subcontractor dispersion will be weaker in projects that exhibit an explorative goal orientation. The findings contribute to the subcontracting literature by distinguishing between the extent of subcontracting and subcontractor dispersion and by highlighting the importance of the general contractor's governance capabilities and project goal orientation when setting up a subcontracting arrangement.

As the number of deliveries continues to increase, last-mile transport causes rising congestion rates and pollution in urban environments. Integrating last-mile deliveries with existing public transport infrastructure, e.g., metros or trams, can make them more sustainable. This integration can implement in a shared infrastructure mode, where passenger and cargo vehicles share the same rail network, or a shared vehicle mode, where vehicles simultaneously transport cargo and passengers. Evaluating the resulting systems entails modelling several interlinking planning problems. This work presents a component-based simulation to evaluate design decisions for shared passenger and freight transport on fixed infrastructure. We introduce a linear mixed-integer program for optimising the train schedule and the allocation of cargo with a lexicographical objective function that prioritises passenger transport while minimising cargo delivery delay. We analyse the interplay of operational modes, scheduling solutions, and settings in a computational simulation study. The results show that a well-planned train schedule can significantly contribute to service quality. Furthermore, a system with shared vehicles is more robust towards changes in demand whereas a system with only shared an infrastructure is a valid option if we consider a high or unlimited dwell time for cargo vehicles.

Do reserved seats yield substantive representation for traditionally marginalized groups? To answer that question, we turn to a remarkable and little-studied institution: reserved seats for Native American tribes in the Maine House of Representatives. Tribal representatives, who can participate in debate but lack a vote, have represented tribes in Maine’s House of Representatives since statehood in 1820. We take advantage of a 1995 rule change that allowed tribal representatives to initiate legislation, and an original dataset of pro-tribal bills, to estimate the effect of reserved seats on the production of pro-tribal bills. We find that once tribal representatives were allowed to write bills, they produced over half of all tribal-related legislation during a 36-year period. Legislators with tribal constituents sponsored fewer relevant bills after the reform but continued to cosponsor pro-tribal legislation. Although our results show tribal representatives contribute to the legislative process, we caution that reserved seats are not a panacea for improving Indigenous representation.

The aim of the paper is to present the economic thoughts of John Calvin and his followers, referring to current issues, such as money lending, usury, or work. The latter, according to the famous thesis of Max Weber, received spiritual value by acting as a bridge between God's will and daily life. The hypothesis of this article differs somewhat from this conviction, assuming that the main economic elements of Calvinist thought have been the consequence of the release of temporal realities from the influence of the direct action of God, according to the protestant theology of the radical separation of nature and grace. Initiated by Protestantism, the dichotomy of nature and grace seems to have important consequences for economic thought. The salvific dimension of human fate remained in the hands of God, he depends entirely on its favour in connection with the dogma of predestination. In the earthly life, a human being was treated as a part of nature, his survival depended on skill and determination. in the struggle with nature, devoid of the grace of God, ruled by the law of necessity. Survival and a better life depended primarily on human labour and effort. The flourishing of economic life has resulted not only from the ethical role of work, but also from the fact that it was no longer inhibited by religious restrictions. Thus, modern man was born, more and more aware of his subjectivity, subordinating nature to himself building the human world in place of the natural world. Building a modern society and economy is part of the Protestant ethos of mastering nature.

This work explores an efficient integration of IoT devices based on context awareness in the agricultural sector. A four-layered framework is proposed in which automation techniques are embedded to get real-time context aware insights from the ecosystem of IoT. The framework is evaluated using a strategic tool called threats, opportunities, weaknesses and strengths (TOWS) matrix to measure the performance of automation techniques. This analysis points out various opportunities to innovate the livelihood of agrarian society around the globe.

Numerous studies have shown that teachers significantly shape student’s learning context. Socially and emotionally competent teachers tend to develop supportive and encouraging relationship with their students by promoting intrinsic motivation, focusing on student’s strengths and abilities, mediating through conflict situations and encouraging appropriate communication and prosocial behaviour. Teachers with good communication skills will create a more successful teaching and learning ambience for the students, and without communication, the teaching and learning process will not take place. Educators, parents and public today recognize the need for an educational agenda to improve academic performance, but also to enhance students’ social and communicational competence. The aim of the present study was to examine social and communication competence of the students of educational sciences and teacher education at the University of Zagreb Department Of Croatian Studies. As part of the most important aspects of the future educational work, the participants pointed out independence at work, the awareness that they would contribute to the future of the society and the awareness that they play a useful role in society. Participants also expressed optimism about their communication skills with students, planning and organizing teaching process and maintaining discipline, and to some less extent their competences for successful cooperation with students’ parents. Results were discussed in terms of possibilities to contribute to future teachers’ education.

Studies show that electromobility will emerge in urban areas. As urban mobility solutions are changing, electromobility is intended with a big potential of sustainable innovation. Nevertheless, changing the mobility culture depends on certain requirements. According to Urri, the automobile development lies in breaking the dominant role of cars which results in a development deadlock. In order to change the mobility culture, the mental approach to mobility options and the infrastructural conditions need to be considered as two central factors. Future mobility isn´t about less mobility, but rather a different way of being mobile and using different types of mobility solutions. This paper presents a research project that is based on the systemic-relational approach. It seeks to develop and introduce the conditions of electromobility in an urban area without a well-frequented local public transport by a networked innovation cooperation in four development areas. The central goal of this work is the integrated development of service innovation of technical and non-technical manner based on the network of project partners, the city council and the university. A change towards electromobility means changing infrastructure, market actors and business models. It signifies a change of social-cultural systems regarding mobility habits, practices and values. One of our main results show that the emotional perception by using experiences of electromobility has a positive effect on its social acceptability which raises the “flow factor” of electromobility.

Data availability for in situ spatial variability assessment of hydraulic parameters is always limited in the vadose zone. In this work, laboratory and in situ experimental methods of parameter estimation were compared to investigate the best estimation method for heterogeneous soil. The Marquardt–Levenberg and non-linear least-squares optimisation algorithms were used for parameter estimation. The simulation error was minimised by selecting sensitive parameters during the numerical solution. The shape factor n was found to be the most sensitive parameter, followed by water content θs, saturated hydraulic conductivity (SHC) and the inverse of the air entry α. Compared with the in situ cumulative infiltration and simultaneous methods, the outflow method resulted in the best fit by minimising the error. During the comparison of outflow and cumulative infiltration methods, only θs showed a significant difference (p = 0.00). On the other hand, SHC showed a non-significant difference (p = 0.439) when the outflow and simultaneous methods were compared. During model predictions, the SHC measured by the simultaneous method showed reasonable estimates for surface horizon and weak correlations (0.79 and 0.77) with deep soil water content, which could be improved by adding more hydraulic parameters. The cumulative infiltration numerical solution resulted in the most reliable estimates of hydraulic parameters for in situ heterogeneous soil.

Motivational policy plays a large role in the effective management of personnel. The state of the economy and social relations in Ukraine and, equally important, the state of self-awareness of its citizens is unstable and complicated. During this period, it is especially important to act effectively in the field of enterprise personnel management. The situation is constantly changing and, accordingly, the approaches to the choice of effective methods of work with personnel must change. The methodological basis of the study is the dialectical method of cognition, determining the position of the theory of motivation of domestic and foreign scientific schools. In the course of the research, a systematic and logical approach to the scientific knowledge of the set of phenomena and processes related to the functioning of the personnel motivation system was applied, which revealed the main problems and prospects of improvement of the motivational policy in the enterprises. During the research, the methods of logical generalization and comparison were used to formulate the basic provisions and prerequisites for the formation of a motivational policy, an algorithm for managing a motivational policy; systematic analysis and synthesis, in particular, when substantiating the main directions of improvement of motivation policy at agricultural enterprises; statistical analysis - in the study of changes in the number and wages of employees in agriculture; logical generalization - when formulating conclusions. The article is devoted to the development of theoretical and methodological approaches to the formation of a modern effective motivational policy in agricultural enterprises. The main directions of improvement of motivational policy in agricultural enterprises are revealed. Systematic stages of implementation of motivational policy in agricultural enterprises. The trends of changes in the number and wages of employees in agriculture are determined. Based on the considered approaches, the algorithm of management of motivational policy in agricultural enterprises is formulated. The results of the study will expand the list of important directions of improvement of motivational policy, which are considered in the context of the algorithm of its management. The proposed algorithm for managing the improvement of motivational policy in agricultural enterprises will provide research and analysis of labor efficiency indicators, their monitoring, which will contribute to the increase of labor efficiency. Tracking factors of influence on the motivational orientation of management processes, deepening the study of motivational systems of change management in agricultural enterprises will be a promising area of research.

This study aimed to develop and evaluate the performance of a service system platform based on the Internet of Things (IoT) for monitoring nutritional deficiencies in plants and providing fertilizer recommendations. There are two distinct differences between this work and previous ones; namely, this service system platform has been developed based on IoT using a system engineering approach and its performance has been evaluated using dependability. We have successfully developed and integrated a service system platform and chlorophyll meter that is based on IoT. We have also successfully tested the performance of the service system platform using the JMeter software. The dependability value measured from the five tested variables (reliability, availability, integrity, maintainability, and safety) showed a value of 0.97 which represents a very good level of system confidence in not failing to deliver services to users under normal operational conditions. From a future perspective, this platform can be used as an alternative service to monitor nutrient deficiencies in plants and provide fertilization recommendations to increase yields, reduce fertilizer costs, and prevent the use of excessive fertilizers, which can cause environmental pollution.

Preferences for monetary and nonmonetary job attributes are important for understanding workers' motivation and the organization of work. Little is known, however, about how those job preferences are formed. We study how macroeconomic conditions when young shape workers' job preferences for life. Using variation in income-per-capita across U.S. regions and over time since the 1920s, we find that job preferences vary in systematic ways with experienced macroeconomic conditions during young adulthood. Recessions create cohorts of workers who give higher priority to income, whereas booms make cohorts care more about job meaning for the rest of their lives.

This study aims to estimate and explore the experience of introducing renewable energy use in the context of the world’s smart cities. In this regard, the study points out that the use of green energy is an important part of sustainable development. Environmental problems are a matter of global concern. Hence sustainable development is one of the approaches to end the harmful anthropogenic impact. The work includes quantitative assessment methods, for example, statistics, quantitative analysis, analogy, and synthesis. As a result, the analysis confirms that the effective development of a smart green city is impossible without the introduction of several renewable energy sources, the integrated use of which will reduce the likelihood of problems with the city’s energy supply. Likewise, the outcome accentuates that the desire to fully switch to renewable energy sources (RES) can be accompanied by several problems as the creation of RES technologies does not always take the risk of abnormal situations into account. In conclusion, the research findings are recommended to be taken into consideration by researchers in the field of smart and sustainable cities development, as well as urbanists and economists for designing future smart green cities based on renewable energy sources.

The necessitate for a worldwide monitoring method for Internet worm detection is obvious. Similarly local reply and exposure inspection also understandable. Generally large set of data is used to supervise worm activity, but found tricky to relate at local network. We observe “victim number based approaches” are not stable for related networks. So what work is suitable for local network? To solve this issue, we recommend Destination Source Correlation algorithm which monitors local networks and looks into the infection rate & tracks real infected hosts to offer a precise reply. Although “HoneyStat” strategy is already been used to trace temporary infection cycle of worm.

One-level optimization methods have been proposed to optimize a single user’s load profile or a cluster of users in the smart grids. In this work, two two-level optimization methods are studied, one case considering technical requirements (case 1) and another considering economic criterion (case 2). In the upper level, the supplier optimizes the objective function. Meanwhile, at the lower level, users optimize their electrical costs. The proposed methods are based on Genetic Algorithm methods. In this sense, an indirect control is established in which users react to a price signal. Simulation results illustrate that both cases improve the demand profile and increase the retailer profit concerning an unscheduled case. However, when the supplier tries to maximize the profit, some users receive benefits to detriment of others, concluding that the technical approach is preferable to the economic one.

Cybercrime is a daily threat against organizations and partners of all sizes and with the rapid development of technology and the great dependence on it in some transactions, a type of serious threats has emerged that pose a high degree of risk to companies and organizations that rely on financial transactions in their work. This type of threat is called Business Email Compromise (BEC), which is a type of email phishing for financial purposes. This attack increased dramatically and caused very high financial losses to companies, especially in the period of remote work and in the Corona crisis, as it increased in the third quarter of the century of this year by 94%. This type of threat does not require a high percentage of knowledge, experience, or skills in deception and fraud, it requires only a reasonable level of social engineering. In this paper, we contribute to analyze this threat is, how it occurs, ways to avoid it or reduce its incidence, and impact on the organization.

The focal role of flow in promoting desirable outcomes in companies, such as increased employees' well-being and performance, led scholars to study flow in the context of work. However, current measurement approaches which assess flow via self-report scales after task execution are limited due to obtrusiveness and a lack of real-time support. Hence, new measurement approaches must be created to overcome these limitations. In this paper, we use cardiac features (heart rate variability; HRV) and a Random Forest classifier to distinguish high and low flow. Our results from a large-scale lab experiment with 158 participants and a field study with nine participants reveal, that with HRV features alone, flow-classifiers can be built with an accuracy of 68.5% (lab) and 70.6% (field). Our research contributes to the challenge of developing a less obtrusive, real-time measurement method of flow based on physiological features and to investigate flow from a physiological perspective. Our findings may serve as foundation for future work aiming to build physio-adaptive systems which can improve employee's performance. For instance, these systems could ensure that no notifications are forwarded to employees while the system is 'sensing' flow.

During the emergence of Data Science as a distinct discipline, discussions of what exactly constitutes Data Science have been a source of contention, with no clear resolution. These disagreements have been exacerbated by the lack of a clear single disciplinary 'parent.' Many early efforts at defining curricula and courses exist, with the EDISON Project's Data Science Framework (EDISON-DSF) from the European Union being the most complete. The EDISON-DSF includes both a Data Science Body of Knowledge (DS-BoK) and Competency Framework (CF-DS). This paper takes a critical look at how EDISON's CF-DS compares to recent work and other published curricular or course materials. We identify areas of strong agreement and disagreement with the framework. Results from the literature analysis provide strong insights into what topics the broader community see as belonging in (or not in) Data Science, both at curricular and course levels. This analysis can provide important guidance for groups working to formalize the discipline and any college or university looking to build their own undergraduate Data Science degree or programs.

Organic fertilizers have been used since the dawn of mankind to improve soil fertility and promote crop growth. However, the process of preparing organic fertilizers for use in agricultural activities is a labour-intensive and time-consuming procedure. Thus, in order to reduce labour costs and improve the efficiency of organic fertilizer preparation, automated organic fertilizer mixers were developed. For this research work, an improved organic fertilizer mixer based on the Internet of Things (IoT) technology capable of monitoring the status of fertilizer production remotely and providing updates and alerts to workers was developed. The aim of this work was to further reduce labour workload and costs, thus increasing efficiency of the organic fertilizer mixing process. In order to accommodate the IoT monitoring system, several modifications and design changes were carried out on the prototype of an automated organic fertilizer mixer. Tests conducted on the prototype unit showed that it performs as required. The IoT monitoring system successfully captures and uploads information on the weight of agricultural waste mixture in the storage drum to the IoT platform. This information can then be used to alert workers on when to add more agricultural waste material to the mixture or remove the processed organic fertilizer. Furthermore, an overall operational cost comparison of different organic fertilizer production methods showed that the automated organic fertilizer prototype provides operational cost savings of over 5 times when compared to current automated systems. Future work includes further automation to the agricultural waste filling and organic fertilizer removal process.

The negative effects of stereotyping arising from a victim’s acceptance and internalisation of stereotype identities are well-known. As stereotypes are created and maintained in discourse, understanding how targets of stereotyping employ discursive resources to resist the constraining structures of stereotypic identities imposed upon them can provide insight into the process of stereotyping and contribute to efforts to reduce the threat of stereotyping. We examined the strategies used by targets of stereotyping in contesting stereotypic representations of their social group through the mobilisation of a range of discourse strategies when presented with stereotyping attacks on the group. The findings revealed that stereotypes are subtle in nature and may not be easily recognised and hence, difficult to resist. Participants employed a number of discourse strategies to repair their fragmented self and group identities. However, in their attempt to maintain identity coherence, they ended up using stereotyping discourses themselves to devalue the perceived outgroup as well as subgroups they created within their own social group. The study highlights the complexity of stereotyping and its self-perpetuating character, and sheds light on the difficulty faced by targets of stereotyping discourse in reconciling their identities through intense discursive and identity work.

Stock price forecasting is a type of time series problem that forecasts the future price or status of a company on the basis of analysis of time respective values. As the price of stock or company varies with respect to time, its behavior can be analyzed by different machine learning approaches. In this work, methodology is proposed to evaluate the stock position with variation in time using deep learning approach such as recurrent neural network (RNN). This methodology used the technical parameters to evaluate the long term and short-term analysis of any stock or share. This approach also evaluates and gives suggestions to investors either to buy or sell any stock for long term and gives return at very low risk. In this paper work, hybridization of co-relation analysis and deep learning approach for stock price and long-term behavior analysis. The proposed work is termed as time lagged weight optimized RNN (TL-WO-RNN) that is adopted in this work and effectively predict the technical parameters and on the basis of that stock behavior is also predicted. The result analysis was performed on data from different sectors and such as Telecom, Powers, Manufacturing, Finance, Software sectors, etc. The result analysis shows the effectiveness of the TL-WO-RNN algorithm as compared to existing work.

Analyzing the surplus and deficit in the public budget and calculating their gap is one of the most important topics of fiscal policy because of the role of public spending and taxes in facing economic fluctuations, as well as their role in stimulating growth, with the intensification of inflationary pressures in addition to the increasing burdens of external and internal debts. Which would increase the financial burdens on the national economy, and then future generations will bear the greater part of its burdens, which negatively affects their levels of well-being as a result of bearing burdens they did not participate in making their own decisions, Rather, they may not have benefited from it in the first place. The study aims to analyze the reality of the public budget and the role of non-oil revenues in financing the public budget, with an analysis of the reality of public debt (internal and external) and the net impact that public debt has on financing the public budget deficit. The study found that the Iraqi budgets are distributive budgets whose main task is to distribute the Iraqi oil revenues on the traditional exchange doors without leading to a qualitative or structural change in the structure of the Iraqi economy. The actual tax revenues did not exceed at best 12% of public revenues. Multiple studies have reported a high prevalence of mental health problems among male and female physicians. Although doctors are reluctant to seek professional help when suffering from a mental disorder, specialised services developed specifically to treat their mental health problems have reported promising results. The purpose of this article is to describe the design and implementation of the Professional Wellbeing Programme (Programa de Bienestar Profesional) of the Uruguayan Medical Association (Colegio Medico del Uruguay). The context, inputs, activities and some of the outputs are described according to a case study design. The main milestones in the implementation of the programme are also outlined, as well as the enabling elements, obstacles and main achievements. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of international collaboration to share experiences and models, how to design the care process to promote doctors' access to psychiatric and psychological care, the need for them to be flexible and dynamic in adapting to new and changing circumstances, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, and to work in parallel with the medical regulatory bodies. It is hoped that the experience described in this work may be of use to other Latin American institutions interested in developing mental health programmes for doctors.

Agricultural drones are Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) applied to farming in order to help increase crop production and improve farm efficiency. Crop-dusting drones are able to spray powdered fertilizer, pesticide, or insecticide on crops from the air, resulting in reduced costs and increased efficiency compared to traditional methods. The objective of this research work was to improve and enhance the performance of the crop-dusting process using agricultural drones. This research paper details the development of an improved storage container design and stabilized release mechanism for crop-dusting. To stabilise the release of payload when the drone is moving or swaying in the air, a gimbal mechanism was added to the release mechanism in which weights were used to produce constant downward force which balances the mechanism. Tests conducted on the prototype system showed that it performs as required. The stabilization tests show an improvement in accuracy of granule spread when using the stabilized release mechanism developed in this research work. As such, the wastage of fertilizers and pesticides can be reduced. The prototype system was also found to much more capable at carrying heavier loads for a longer period of time compared to current designs. Thus, using the prototype system developed for this research work, the size of storage container as well as the weight of fertilizer or pesticide granule payloads can be increased.

Financial fraud figures show that the annual losses of institutions and customers are millions of dollars in account fraud, credit card fraud, insurance fraud, fraud and other criminal activities. These data sets are often so broad and complex that using on-line database management software is difficult to process.

Management innovation is related to new organizational structures and administrative systems that generate the possibility of creating value for the company. Using as theoretical framework the dynamic capabilities theory, this article examines the relationship between management innovation, technological innovation, and performance, testing the moderating effect of management innovation. Methodologically, the work uses data from the Survey of Development and Technological Innovation 2015–2016 of the Colombian manufacturing industrial sector. For the analysis, six ordinary least squares and robust regression models are estimated. The results suggest that in Colombia, companies do not achieve better results by introducing technological and management innovations simultaneously, since management innovation negatively moderates the relationship between technological innovation and performance. However, management and technological innovations positively influence firm's performance when they are introduced into companies separately. Theoretically, the work advances the literature on the dynamics capabilities perspective, using it to analyze management innovation, technological innovation, and performance in emerging economies. Empirically, useful information is provided for the design of strategies for practitioners seeking to improve the performance of companies with the introduction of management innovations, technological innovations, and new administrative practices. There is a need to develop a far greater understanding of how the invention and implementation of new administrative practices, organizational structures, or management techniques affect in tandem technological innovation capabilities and firm's performance.

Drawing on the neo-republican theory of non-domination and a qualitative case study conducted in three Dutch municipalities, this article explores the extent to which external rules are able to prevent arbitrary power in relationships between welfare officers and work supervisors, on the one hand, and welfare recipients participating in mandatory work programmes, on the other hand. It concludes that external rules were insufficiently implemented in the three municipalities in question. In addition, it found that rules cease to be capable of constraining arbitrary power where institutional contexts themselves are unpredictable and insecure. Under these conditions, welfare recipients may seek to avoid risks and act in accordance with the preferences (or their expectation of the preferences) of the welfare officer or work supervisor by playing the role of the ‘good recipient’ instead of relying on available rules of a protective nature or rules that enable them to have a say in their participation in mandatory work programmes.

Research suggests that employees work harder under penalty contracts than under economically equivalent bonus contracts. We build on this literature by examining how the motivational advantage of penalty contracts depends on a common aspect of real-world contracts: payoff ambiguity. With payoff ambiguity, employees provide effort without knowing how much pay they will receive for a given level of performance. According to our theory, this ambiguity opens the door for employee optimism, which has contrasting effects under each contract frame. Results from an experiment support this theory, with an increase in ambiguity leading to less employee effort with penalty contracts (as employees optimistically expect small penalties) and more effort with bonus contracts (as employees optimistically expect large bonuses). We also find that these effects are stronger for more dispositionally optimistic employees. Overall, our results suggest that bonus contracts may be more motivating and penalty contracts less motivating than previously thought.

This article explains problems of individualization of education and extracurricular activities’ programs’ development. Main problems that need to be solved at various stages of the organization of extracurricular activities, from its methodological study to organizational and technical planning are analyzed. An overview of the directions of extracurricular activities, the forms in which it can be organized as well as the specifics of its implementation at various levels of education is offered. In order to reduce the labor intensity of time costs taking into account the time allocated for its implementation as well as the ability to generate plans taking into account individual preferences an intelligent information system was developed. Multi-criteria mathematical models from the class of optimization methods for solving the posed problem of decision support, functional and software-architectural developed model of a web service and examples of its work on the stages of planning general activities in the optimization formulation are presented. The proposed approach can be widely used in educational institutions of various levels interested in reducing the cost of organizing extracurricular work, automatic checking for compliance with requirements, as well as generating a work plan taking into account the opinions of various categories of experts.

Due to rapid movement of rural population to new regions and countries in order to find work and for better living conditions, population growth and economic development, there is gradual increase in production of waste and demand of electricity worldwide. According to World Bank statistics, the global Municipal Solid Waste generated was 1.3 billion tons in year 2012 and this is expected to increase above 2.2 billion tons per year by 2025. Due to lack of sites for waste disposal, it has become a serious environmental as well as health issue. Now various methods have been adopted for waste disposal. Among this, energy accessed from municipal solid waste is the most common practice adopted by developing countries. In addition, Waste to Energy and Energy from Waste technologies are used which include thermal and biological technologies. Gasification, pyrolysis and incineration are thermal technologies used in conversion of waste to energy. During these processes, syngas is produced which is used in combustion engine or turbines to generate electricity. Apart from this, biomethanation is also used in which biogas is produced. In this review article, we have discussed all the environmental and green methods used for the generation of energy from Municipal Solid Waste their advantages and drawbacks.

Delay is quite common in the construction project. A time overrun in any activity or operation affects the completion of the work, resulting in disagreements and lawsuits. As a result, it's critical to investigate and assess the causes of construction delays. This dissertation focuses on the investigation of key elements that makes delay and the analysis of day-to-day records to reduce delays. To solve this problem, we induced the collection of daily data on-site work, such as starting and finishing time, completed task, etc. These data are recorded in MS Project, which distinguishes between task and critical activity and the delays caused and reasons for the delays. The data were evaluated with MS Project, and the priority of the delay was predicted with SPSS software based on a ranking system.

That there is an imbalance of electricity demand and supply in Ethiopia is known. Development of the Micro hydro power (MHP) system is an important technology to solve the problem. The main objective of this study was to do modelling and simulation of a micro-hydropower system for rural electrification in the case of Temecha River, Ethiopia. Yearly flow data were collected from Ethiopian Basins Development Authority and used to estimate the design flow rate. Next, modelling and simulation were done by using MATLAB SIMULINK. Some of the SIMULINK results were power and flow duration curves, and others. The nethead and design flow rates were found to be16.34m and 0.5731m3/s, respectively. Based on the preliminary analysis, the turbine selected for the site is a Kaplan turbine. It is found that, the power output of this system is greater than the electricity demand of the selected site for 346 days of the year. Thus, the systemic found to be efficient in terms of generated electrical power as compared to similar works reported in the literature. The scale of the design can be re modified to be implemented in other remote are as having river resources. Stock theft is among the major challenges faced by livestock farmers in South Africa. It has severe consequences especially for smallholder farmers, who collectively own a large share of the South African livestock herds but individually keep small herds. In recent years, technological improvements and innovations have made it possible to track livestock movements by using GPS animal tracking devices. Low-cost GPS has been developed and used elsewhere and in the local commercial sector. Given the well-known role of extension, i.e. information and technology dissemination, the possibility that smallholders adopt GPS animal tracking devices should be evaluated. However, very few studies have made a case for using this technology in curbing stock theft among smallholder farmers. This review therefore addresses the likelihood that smallholder livestock farmers in South Africa adopt GPS animal tracking devices to mitigate the impact of stock theft. Using a semi-systematic and a snowball literature review approach, we consulted and reviewed the relevant literature and official statistics relating to stock theft and smallholder livestock farming. Results from the reviewed literature suggest that the likelihood of GPS animal tracking device adoption by smallholders will depend on a) the awareness about the devices and how they work, b) the acuteness of stock theft for a farmer and how livestock contributes the farmer’s livelihood, and c) the income level, access to mobile phones and risk behaviour of farmers. Our literature findings identify areas for future research and may help agricultural extension personnel with future research topics.

RESUMO Introdução: Considerado atributo de uma sociedade contemporânea mais democrática, igualitária e justa, o acesso à informação é um direito constitucionalmente garantido a todo cidadão. Objetivo: Assim, este estudo foi realizado com profissionais vinculados ao Sistema Eletrônico do Serviço de Informação ao Cidadão (e-SIC), objetivando conhecer o perfil do (a) gestor (a) desse serviço, bem como sua satisfação em relação ao desempenho de suas funções profissionais nesse ambiente de trabalho. Metodologia: Quanto aos procedimentos metodológicos, a pesquisa caracteriza-se por sua natureza, predominantemente, qualitativa do tipo descritiva. Os dados foram coletados por meio de questionários. Resultados: Entre os objetivos alcançados na pesquisa, destaca-se o perfil dos profissionais responsáveis pelo gerenciamento do e-SIC: a maioria tem entre 41 e 50 anos, é do sexo feminino, pertence a diferentes profissões, como, por exemplo, advogado e delegado, e atua de um a dois anos nesse ambiente de trabalho. Conclusão: Verificou-se, também, que, apesar das barreiras encontradas, os (as) gestores (as) do e-SIC desempenham suas funções satisfatoriamente e consideram o Sistema como uma ferramenta de poder entre a sociedade e o setor público, o que possibilita mais controle e comunicação social e contribui significativamente com a população. ABSTRACT Introduction: Considered an attribute of a more democratic, egalitarian and fair contemporary society, access to information is a constitutionally guaranteed right for every citizen. Objective: Therefore, this study was conducted with professionals linked to the Electronic System of the Citizen Information Service (e-SIC), with the purpose of knowing the profile of the manager of this service, as well as his/her satisfaction in relation to the performance of his/her professional duties in this work environment. Methodology: As for the methodological procedures, the research is characterized by its nature, predominantly qualitative of the descriptive type. The data were collected by means of questionnaires. Results: Among the objectives achieved in the survey, the profile of the professionals responsible for the management of e-SIC stands out: most of them are between 41 and 50 years old, are female, belong to different professions, such as lawyer and delegate, and work from one to two years in this work environment. Conclusion: It has also been found that, despite the barriers encountered, the e-SIC managers perform their functions satisfactorily and consider the System as a power tool between society and the public sector, which enables more control and social communication and contributes significantly to the population.
